Please follow these few simple steps to setup ZENECTED on your OS X:
Click on the network icon [Step 1] and select “Open Network Preferences…” [Step 2].
In the “Network” settings screen click on the “+” [Step 3].
A new window will open asking you to select the interface and a name for the new service. In the “interface” click on the drop-down [Step 4] to see all the options…
From the drop-down options, select VPN [Step 5].
On the next screen for VPN Type, select L2TP over IPSec [Step 6]. For Service Name, type in the name you’d like to use. We used Zenected [Step 7]. Click Create.
Enter the server IP address or hostname [Step 8] and username [Step 9[ that you obtained earlier from your Zenected administrator. Then click on Authentication Settings… [Step 10].
For User Authentication use Password and enter the password [Step 11]. For Machine Authentication, select Shared Secret and enter the required details [Step 12]. Both the password and the shared secret should be provided to you by your Zenected administrator. Click OK.
Check the box for Show VPN status in menu bar [Step 13]. The VPN icon will appear in your menu bar in the upper-right corner of your screen. Click “Advanced…” [Step 14]
Under Options, check the box for Send all traffic over VPN connection [Step 15]. Remember to click OK. And then on the next screen click Apply to set the VPN configuration. You are set!
Now, the easiest way to connect is by clicking on the VPN status icon [Step 16] in the menu bar and selecting Connect Zenected (or some other name of your choice) [Step 17].
